THEM.SG Presents: THEM JAM 2011 – A Multi-disciplinary Festival

THEM.SG is back with a ground-breaking exhibition where we celebrate the burgeoning Singapore talents in the field of art, design, fashion and dance. The first festival to gather more than 100 local artists into one venue and one massive collaboration, THEM JAM features some of Singapore’s creme de la creme as curators, promising a spectacular night to remember.
Presenting something a little less ordinary, be prepared to expect an avant garde fashion presentation which explores the boundaries of interactive media presented by Quincy Teofisto of cult boutique Blackmarket; art installations by Alvin Tan (phunk studio) and Jason Tong of Mystic Vintage; a live music and dance collaboration in the form of a Dance Jam curated by Felix Huang of pioneering breakdance crew Radikal Forze as well as the musical talents of Pushin’On and the Bamrah Bros among the stellar line-up. Top it off with an after-hours special from the country’s leading audio/ visual collective SYNDICATE in a first-ever collaboration with the famed Bedsty collective responsible for the likes of ELLE’s most recently crowned best music act Kevin Lester, a night of high energy and exciting visuals await you.
On top of that, THEM.SG will also be presenting Singapore’s first Gif Competition (read below for details) where participants pit their one of a kind GIF creations against each other for a grand prize as well as the title of GREATEST GIF KNOWN TO MAN. The competition will be judged by a renowned panel of judges with names such as Chris Ng of IdN, Jackson Tan of phunk studio and Chris Lee of Asylum in the list.
Think of it as a giant collaboration between Singapore’s leading influencers coming together to do something a little less ordinary in the name of passion, and of course, fun.
The THEM JAM 2011 will be held on 7th December at Avalon, South Crystal Pavilion at Marina Bay Sands Singapore.
THEM GIF JAM is a competition & exhibition that aims to spark creativity and open minds to this innovative and fun form of art by showcasing some of the best animated shorts from artists and designers working, studying & residing in Singapore.
Through an online voting environment where your friends and fans can vote you to the top, and the final top entries selected by a panel of esteemed judges, the exhibition shown on over 50 screens will be the 1st in Singapore to bring together such a large number of artists and designers.
So get your GIFs into gear and be apart of THEM GIF JAM 2011. – Good luck and may the best GIF win.

You have the Freedom to create something Independently Speedy but your GIF must be Original and Authentic. No copies. Only the Most ExcitingGIF will win.
Draw, Illustrate, Photograph, Mime, Muppet, Dance, Crash, Enact, Stop Motion, Lego or Rip…. Whatever it takes to come up with the most adrenaline induced piece of GIF animation known to man.

All entrants must be 18 years old and above. Club Rules
RED – All GIFs must use the color red as the main color in the animation.
The top 50 entries are selected by public votes. The 50 with the most votes gets to be exhibited at THEM JAM 2011, a multi-disciplinary pop-up festival in December 2011.
1 People’s Choice or the GIF with the most votes + 2 outstanding designs will be selected by a panel of esteemed judges. They will be announced at THEM JAM 2011.
