Exhibition from May 26-29, 2011
Hall 1, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Located next to the VIP Lounge)
Terry Richardson is one of the most prolific and compelling photographers of his generation, having achieved acclaim and notoriety in equal measure for his inventive and uncompromising images. Known for his uncanny ability to cut to the raw essence of his subjects, Mr. Richardson’s vision is at once humorous, tragic, often beautiful and always provocative.
The book HONG KONG Terry Richardson will be launched on May 25th at the ART HK 11 Vernissage evening, accompanied by an exhibition of the images. It features a candid perspective of the city of Hong Kong as captured by Terry Richardson during a weeklong stay at the end of 2007.
Local sights, flavors, smells, personalities and a plethora of celebrities/socialites are represented in the book, including Maggie Cheung, Daniel Wu, Jan Lam, Josie Ho, Sam Lee, Shawn Yue, Hilary Tsui, and Twins. Personal favorites from Mr. Richardson include shooting the “Golden Couple”, Brenda and Kai Bong Chow, as well as getting a crash course in martial arts from Gordon Liu (of Kill Bill fame) and Bruce Lee lookalike, Danny Chan.
HONG KONG Terry Richardson will be available in a edition of 1000 copies with 100 signed limited edition versions, which will be available for sale at the show.
